Koultoura: Brunch, Chocolates & Thunder Bolt (?)

Everyone was like.. "hey, have you been to Koultoura yet?" "let's go to Koultoura sometimes, been there before, done that blah-blah-blah and it was good" so, i arranged a quick met up with my girl who happened back in town for a while at this well-designed coffee shop.

To be honest, Koultoura sets a really high bar in term of concept and design especially when it's located in Greenville area, where not so much pretty and comfy places available to sip a glass of hot chocolate while doing your assignments with free and FAST wi-fi provided.

ps : again, i forgot to bring my camera. pictures taken with phone..

Careful dear, you have to queue first and let the workers knows your order before you finally took a seat. Starbucks or any other coffee joints ordering style. But, they will take your food orders to your seat since it will took some times.

I love it! aren't they just too cute?

I love how the design team turned this place out to be something to bragged about. Despite the furnitures or pictures hanging around, it's still has that really spacious space for doing moonwalk, somersault.. whatever.. movements. Moreover, the photo arts and maybe every little things placed on definitely captivated my attention.

Croque Madam (IDR 45.000) Whoaa.. Trust me, if love at the first sight is trully exist, then it must be my kind of first love in any sort. A perfect brunch dish which gets mushy in no time ; you have to enjoyed it after you photographed it (uh-oh) I cut it through and a perfect yolk just splashed out. Mine was big! even i got full after it. Do i have to explain how does it tasted? Though i think the word "perfect" should've explained it thoroughly.

My hash and cornet beef was definitely perfect combo with the toast, poached eggs and topped with bechamel sauce plus cheese. On the sidelines of eating it, i love how they slipped a peppery kick inside. Served with homemade wedges.

Read : Hotty Potty THE FAINT hearted

Ice chocolate with vanilla ice cream (IDR 37.500 if not mistaken) and lychee ice tea (around IDR 20.000)

Truffle Fries IDR 50.000

Lasagna IDR around 65-70.000

Pesto Spaghetti with Salmon IDR 80.000

While this Croque Madam gained its well-heard popularity from its fans. How about the main courses? take as an example.. Their Salmon Pesto Spaghetti? Honestly, it lacks of flavors. The pasta itself was bland almost tasteless but fragrant. For me, their salmon was bit overcooked but tasted quite nice. Moreover, the texture from the pasta itself which wasn't al-dente. A good pasta should've been cooked so as to be firm but not hard. Quite a disappointment for me otherwise it would a perfect afternoon where all the foods were almost superb.

On the other hand, their lasagna was good! I love how their's was soft and like melted in my mouth.. However, i do think the taste from its tomato paste was bit overwhelming.. But, it really was a satisfying lasagna..

My Ice chocolate was a treat! i love how it tasted bold and chocolaty and not too sweet while its vanilla ice cream was the "it" right complement. I love their ice cream, sweet and milky made me wanting for another scoop of it. Appeared that their lychee ice tea was also nice with the right balance of sweetness.

So, have you tried it? Some of you might wondering why a thunder bolt is necessary for this post's title? Look at their logo, a coffee mug with lightning strucked from above.. I marked this post as a MUST GO place to chillax or maybe doing your assignments with fast wi-fi provided. Well, like this.. "Where are you going to do your homework?" "Koultoura" now.. that sounds quite fancy..

Will i come back for revisit? YES! why? Because i'm a sucker for their Croque Madam and i really wanna try their other beverages and brunch menu.. So. See you again, anytime soon Koultoura!

Cargo Bar & Lounge

Let me introduce you the newest additional around Pesanggerahan area, where it is begin to develop with rows of restaurants and any other culinary stations. Cargo is a bar, restaurant, a place to chill out on the sideline or after streaks of hectic routines. Sandwiched between relieve and cranky for the non-smokers, like me. Because this place is a full smoking area. Looking on the bright side, hey.. they have smoke filters which is quite effective, i must say. How about the food? Keep scrolling down, mate.

Midtown Owl

With a help of a friend, i managed to bought my second Disdus voucher i ever bought in my whole existence. The more i scrolling down, the more i got tempted and finally, i said hello to Midtown Owl. A restaurant with mostly Italian foods options dominating the entire menu. Personally, i think it is smart to put such a rejuvenescence in the midst of a monotone apartment. But, sometimes you just don't really care about it especially if your apartment located just a cross a shopping arcade.

Tsurukamedou

Tsurukamedou means the hall of crane and tortoise.
Ramen chef Masayuki Nomura founded Tsurukamedou and envisions the restaurant as a place to cultivate the great spirit of Tsuru and Kame. The crane flies gracefully and harmoniously to different continents in search of breeding grounds during its long migratory route. the tortoise  moves slowly but definitely and with all the life's energy and purpose.

Tapas de Espana

Dear Central Park, you did a great job putting one Spanish restaurant in the middle of Italian domination on the Tribeca floors. I've been spotting this newly established restaurant since its very first emergence day just beside Brussel Springs. And, yesterday was just the perfect time to tried this baby out. I've been bored on waiting for quite a long time for new restaurants are seems slowly to popped out replacing the old boring restaurants nearby.

School Food Blomingmari

Another restaurant has popped up at my self proclaimed 2nd home, Central Park. This time is a Korean restaurant franchise from Korea itself, my friend told me and she said, this School Food is somewhat famous amidst Korean and a few days ago, she tried to satisfied her urge toward Korean thingy and this is including her palate and love toward Korean dishes. And, just today she got another sudden crave for Korean feast and she pulled me along to try this School Food just beside an escalator that lead to Blitzmegaplex. Oh no, i am not a fan of Korean, both boyband (except 2PM) and whatever you named it,including the feast. I murmured at heart : "please, be good"

Bintang Aceh

Standing under the same roof with Roc N'Ron, this Aceh's foods specialized restaurant bringing an Indonesian fresh air toward the surroundings. I can say the owner is serious on culinary business. Why? He has 3 restaurants on one same terrain and not to mention one karaoke place in the middle of his any other adjacent restaurants.

Shabuya : Delighful Japanese Treats

Been wanting for satiate treats since last week made myself went to Pullman for Collage promo buy 1 get 1 using BCA Platinum. Unfortunately, we couldn't sat there and eat with ease since we've got to reserve at least one day in advance. So, with a little bit disappointment, me and my birthday girl went to Shabuya one All You Can Eat Japanese restaurant with several good  tidings bestowed upon it located just beside Sushi Tei, Central Park. Hoping this rather quite convincing looking restaurant from the front could satisfy me and the not-so-easily-pleased birthday girl.

Quick Review : Go Wagyu Steak

Just about 2 days ago i had one fine steak tasting at SteakHotel by Holycow! and yesterday my friend insisted to eat her self-proclaimed best steak restaurant at Central Park Mall named Go Wagyu Steak. The place itself just your ordinary restaurant. Nothing fancy, just a place to eat and enjoy your wagyu.

Mustache Me

Not too far from Ninotchka another dessert diner has emerged in Citra Garden 6 housing complex. The name Mustache Me surely piqued my curiosity, it appeared not only me who intrigued. A friend of mine braved a stressful jam and floods from Gading-Citra just to took a peek by herself what this mini restaurant is all about. I love how the place was being humble, homey yet cozy at the same time and (hopefully) the munches are worth the traffic.

Imperial Chef : Authentic Szechuan Dishes

Standing under the same roof with that famous Duck King, this authentic Szechuan restaurant which serves Szechuan dishes with high quality ingredients imported straight from China ready to spoil your tongue and (hopefully) made my day. Anyway, it's been quite a long time since my last post and i apologize for my lazy fingers. Forgive them. So, i've been craving for something Chinese and i put a high expectation to this authentic Szechuan restaurant. Well, is it a self proclaimed? or it really is? Just keep reading on and let the writing speaks.

Good foods, Annoying Time at Hongkong Cafe

This well known restaurant at Central Park Mall surely has indulged some foodies with their good foods and reasonable prices. Me, myself has marked this place as one of my favorites when i happened to be around this stuffy and crowded mall. Inside was quite spacious with old timber colored flooring and family type dining tables.

Ninotchka : Once is Never Enough

Been countless times visiting this cute coffee parlor, for some reasons this diner successfully attracts me to come over and over again. Reviewed it before ( CLICK ) Established as one of the hippest venue around Citra Garden residential area, i really think Ninotchka doesn't needs any promotions to jack up its name because it is already (really) popular and mostly filled with teenagers and school girls who are fond with sweets.

The Gallery

A long swanky entrance with artistic display and pictures ushering our walked to the main restaurant. The Gallery really suit this either all you can eat or ala carte restaurant which is unimaginably located at Ciputra Mall. But, this restaurant is a part of from their Ciputra Hotel not their mall. I was fascinated by their art collections including sculpture, carvings, and pictures. You can enjoy all the goodness from The Gallery from IDR 212.000 and good news! Every Wednesday they have buy 1 get 1 promo which you really should use this awesome opportunity to indulge youself with their foods, and i must say, their FLAWLESS service. The services were just perfect, really attentive, polite, wide knowledge about their foods and products. Undeniably one of the best in town, i guarantee.

Quick Review : Bonchon

Actually, this rapidly growing chain restaurants aren't new and i bet most of you already tried it or simply addicted by it. Seriously, it's like everywhere to be found. I had a very good first impression, i really love their chicken drumsticks while watching Prometheus about several months ago, it was well marinated at the skin but less marinated inside, tender, quite juicy and am a sucker for their finger licking special sauce. So, the point is you have to eat the chicken with the skin, it was really really good. I never really had one heavy meal there yet yesterday i still didn't have the chance to try due to the over-fullness big tummy. And i bother myself to pay another visit to bought an illegal snack to Blitzmegaplex. I rewarded myself 24pieces of Bonchon Bites and it's gone before the movie playing.

Roc N' Ron

“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.” I do really agree with this fabulous quote by Virginia Woolf. So, i never restrain myself from my voracious eating habit. That day, the rain was heavily dripped, the sky was dark and obscure, and occasionally sounds tight the rumble of thunder. The weather was unceasingly gloomy and made me felt cranky. I do really love rainy season yet ( sometimes ) hate it to the bones, it sort of love hate relationship. And yeah, the traffic was really testing my patience as a patient human being. Lets put aside the weather, and take a look of what Roc n Ron offered to carnivores.

TORICO

Ciputra Mall or formerly known as Citraland is a mall which has stood for many years. It's like a spot for me who is a college student at nearby university to fill my belly after long, boring, and confiscating energy classes. Spotted a new Japanese restaurant opened at the 4th floor of Ciputra Mall named Torico. Is it good? I don't know about the good part since my very first try wasn't memorable, but it is quite affordable. Hopefully the 2nd visits turned out to be good.

Welcome Gong Cha at Central Park

As a fan of bubble tea, I was very excited when i heard its finally opened their very first store at Jakarta, specifically located at Central Park face-to-face with Come Buy and just beside everyone's favorite Sushi Tei ( at least not for me ). Recalling my very first time had this drink at Singapore, and it was quite satisfying. So there i was, queued patiently and got my cup of Yoghurt Green Tea (23k ) and Black Milk Tea ( 18k ) including additional topping which cost 3k/topping.

NINOTCHKA Coffee Parlour & Diner

Ninotchka is one most popular venue in West Jakarta , which is exactly located at Citra Garden 6 . Sonia Eryka a blogger , an artist ( maybe ) and more , promoted Ninotchka several times in her blog and so on ( heard this from one of my friends ) .
From whoever Ninotchka got its popularity it doesn't matter . As a dessert parlour , Ninotchka serves several kinds of yummy desserts with an  environmentally friendly prices but i do think the portions are kinda bit small . Been here several times , this place seems crowded by students and teenagers. Well , with those affordable prices , cute and simple concept that inviting you to come in , and with those tempting desserts . what are reasons for you not to come here?
