Cena Romantica a ULTIMO

Before i went to Bali, i already warned my friends that i have to, must to, take up no reasons not to visit this renowned Italian restaurant which is located at the busy Seminyak street. I didn't know what makes me craves so much for this Ultimo whereas i never been to, or frankly speaking experiencing it. But, surely there was some kind of magnet that dragged me despite the bustle and haste of having flight straight after this last dinner we had in Bali.

To reassure i've made the right decision especially as our last dinner where routines seems happily waiting behind the clouds, i took some times surfing Ultimo, many good reviews raving in and surprised how friendly the prices are. It literally took three days just to got our seats. I chose location by the garden where every tables covered with white and red table cloth as much as is proper in an Italian fine dining.

The services were helpful, prompt and friendly. I love how the ambiance was intimately enlivening our night. Yes, it took quite a long time to got the foods ready. Luckily, a basket of complimentary breads on our tables managed to prop the starve. No complains goes to their freshly baked complimentary bread, it smelled good and tasted good especially the cheese sticks. It was addictive, didn't realize tho it was nearly empty ended up by me.

their table arrangement with a basket of complimentary with a scoop of butter. I don't know what butter they used but it was so good paired up with the freshly baked bread.

Creamy Lime Crush and Ultimo Punch IDR 25.000/each

My favorites were these dynamic duo.. both were refreshing and sweet. Tbh, i forgot the details because it is a postpone post for about 3-4months now. The only let down was a drink called True Colors which tasted quite bland for me.

Large Grilled Seafood IDR 60.000

Grilled squids and a shrimp topped with garlic sauce. The vegetables were crunch and seasoned. Actually, it was quite good.. Too bad, the squids were quite hard to chew.

Small Filetto Pepe Verde IDR 68.000

Beef fillet with delicious mashed potato on side. A fantastic dish where the beef was so tender and the flavors were all there.. The sauce was seriously good. I mean, even i tasted this about 3-4months ago. I can still remember how good it was. I dare you to find this kind of menu for 68k in a good dining place at Jakarta. I bet you won't find it. I could tasted a hint of brandy though.

Large Dori Fish IDR 80.000 (the bill said so)

I vaguely remember what kind of sauce they used for this dish. But as i recalling back it was zesty with bit lemon tasted like. Rest assured, the dori itself was juicy and again, seasoned beautifully like Gordon Ramsay said. What i love from Ultimo is, they care even the tiny bit details such as the vegetables. They really gave each of their vegetables a justice. Oh, their mashed potato included. Every of their mashed potatoes served on our plates were soft, creamy but not too much.

Panacota IDR 27.000

That raspberry sauce below tasted too sour even for me.. i couldn't handle it. However, the panacota was perfect! It was milky and everything a good panacota should be.

Zabaione IDR 35.000

It supposed to be Zabaglione, but the bill said different. It was my very first time to tried this Italian dessert made from egg yolks, sugar and Marsala wine. The texture was creamy and foamy. Again, i think they used the same kind of raspberry sauce like what they did on their panacota. Too eccentric even for my palate. Not a fan of this dessert i must say. One thing that matter the most is : Hey, i've tried Zabaglione!

I really enjoyed times we spent here at Ultimo. Generous portion, romantic ambiance, competitive price, wide menu selections, great services and top of that.. the tax was only 10%. That's all! Trust me, this is a rare finding. I'll definitely pay a second visit when i happened to be around. Although we rushed our way back to airport, it was definitely worth it.

Cargo Bar & Lounge

Let me introduce you the newest additional around Pesanggerahan area, where it is begin to develop with rows of restaurants and any other culinary stations. Cargo is a bar, restaurant, a place to chill out on the sideline or after streaks of hectic routines. Sandwiched between relieve and cranky for the non-smokers, like me. Because this place is a full smoking area. Looking on the bright side, hey.. they have smoke filters which is quite effective, i must say. How about the food? Keep scrolling down, mate.

Steakology : Seven Wonders of Sauces

People, they keep and keep using foreign products as their raw and main materials while there's one humble looking steak house in Tebet area stand strong using local meats as their ideology. Steakology as they called, which is owned by a group of friends including Tantri from Kotak Band and Prabu Revolusi in it. As a guy who now never watches any television programs, i don't know who Prabu Revolusi is, but to look at him personally, this guy has tough charisma and hopefully the steaks aren't as tough as him.

Therefore, completely exploring PIK thoroughly will not be an easy task for anyone including those who lives nearby. And, another new Indonesian restaurant specializing in Soto Betawi  has emerged face to face with Ravino.

Tea Time

Don't you guys getting bored with those overwhelming bubble tea outlets that keeps popping out from out of nowhere? For me, it is one never ending battles between the pleasure and the guilt. Spoiled by those sweet, refreshing, yet addictive in some kind of ways cup of tea is surely delightful before that guilt attacks you all over afterwards. But, what about if cup of bubble teas accompanied by delicious Taiwanese snacks? Can't you resist it? Me, myself just lost to them completely. Belly rules the mind, it's a matter of being pleased or pissed.

Quick Review : Go Wagyu Steak

Just about 2 days ago i had one fine steak tasting at SteakHotel by Holycow! and yesterday my friend insisted to eat her self-proclaimed best steak restaurant at Central Park Mall named Go Wagyu Steak. The place itself just your ordinary restaurant. Nothing fancy, just a place to eat and enjoy your wagyu.

Mustache Me

Not too far from Ninotchka another dessert diner has emerged in Citra Garden 6 housing complex. The name Mustache Me surely piqued my curiosity, it appeared not only me who intrigued. A friend of mine braved a stressful jam and floods from Gading-Citra just to took a peek by herself what this mini restaurant is all about. I love how the place was being humble, homey yet cozy at the same time and (hopefully) the munches are worth the traffic.

Olives House

My heart goes to Jakarta flood victims whose now struggling with shortage of foods materials, clothes and their houses drowned by the flood. These days, Jakarta has been washed by unceasing streaks of rains.I thank God for letting me through the day without any hardships. And today, me with my several friends from high school went to Sumarecon, since the route to Jakarta completely blocked and can't be bypassed because the water level has reached to the point where it couldn't be proceeded.

Beatrice Quarters

Beatrice Quarters is one cute restaurant located at Pantai Indah Kapuk. As i stepped in, the waiters and waitresses welcoming us and ushering us to the table. It's a date between me and my Senior High School friend after one fattening day at Bluegrass (review coming soon) The decorations were undeniably cute and chic. It wasn't that huge and spacey inside. There are just few seats inside and some at the outside. I was like transported to a girl's room with girly wallpaper and furniture. It was surely a feast to the eyes.

Quick Review : Bonchon

Actually, this rapidly growing chain restaurants aren't new and i bet most of you already tried it or simply addicted by it. Seriously, it's like everywhere to be found. I had a very good first impression, i really love their chicken drumsticks while watching Prometheus about several months ago, it was well marinated at the skin but less marinated inside, tender, quite juicy and am a sucker for their finger licking special sauce. So, the point is you have to eat the chicken with the skin, it was really really good. I never really had one heavy meal there yet yesterday i still didn't have the chance to try due to the over-fullness big tummy. And i bother myself to pay another visit to bought an illegal snack to Blitzmegaplex. I rewarded myself 24pieces of Bonchon Bites and it's gone before the movie playing.

Fresh'n Your Day at BeetBeetle

Muara Karang is like a sacred place for Chinese peoples who loves to eat non-halal foods ( contain pork ) But, it is lack of hangout places like PIK, the haven of goodness which is located just a few km from it. So, here's BeetBeetle appeared as a rejuvenation for young peoples who lives nearby to enjoy Taiwanese snacks, Oriental-Western foods, or even grab a glass of beer. It is one teenage restaurant with cheerful concept. As i stepped inside, it was a minimalist not to mention fresh looking restaurant with homey ambiance.

TORICO

Ciputra Mall or formerly known as Citraland is a mall which has stood for many years. It's like a spot for me who is a college student at nearby university to fill my belly after long, boring, and confiscating energy classes. Spotted a new Japanese restaurant opened at the 4th floor of Ciputra Mall named Torico. Is it good? I don't know about the good part since my very first try wasn't memorable, but it is quite affordable. Hopefully the 2nd visits turned out to be good.

NINOTCHKA Coffee Parlour & Diner

Ninotchka is one most popular venue in West Jakarta , which is exactly located at Citra Garden 6 . Sonia Eryka a blogger , an artist ( maybe ) and more , promoted Ninotchka several times in her blog and so on ( heard this from one of my friends ) .
From whoever Ninotchka got its popularity it doesn't matter . As a dessert parlour , Ninotchka serves several kinds of yummy desserts with an  environmentally friendly prices but i do think the portions are kinda bit small . Been here several times , this place seems crowded by students and teenagers. Well , with those affordable prices , cute and simple concept that inviting you to come in , and with those tempting desserts . what are reasons for you not to come here?

Giggle Box

Last Saturday i went to Bandung with my companions for 2D 1N . What we had in thought were only eat eat and eat . After had our very 1st early lunch at Hummingbird which i am gonna review it soon , which i knew about Hummingbird from reading Miss Ivy blog . In short i was tempted by her review so i made a quick visit there. While i knew about this Giggle Box from my friend recommendation who lives at Bandung .

It was quite packed back then . Bandung venues are always crowded like all the time . I meant if you see a venue at Bandung which is not packed it is either new / not worth it . Quite sure of it .

Giggle box was only a few steps from Hartwood and close to Hummingbird . Located at one of the most strategic location at Bandung , Progo . Giggle box giving something fresh and something that worth of visit . Dominated by white , especially the stanchion and the curve entrance . What i had in mind this place was chick , adorable and cute .

The best part about this restaurant is : The price was environmental welfare . I was full back then , but i dared myself to ordered some . Sorry my dear fatty tummy . I promise to make you slim within 2 years .

Sorry though i was too focused at the outdoor , so i forgot to took the indoor pics . But believe me the indoor was less interesting comparing to the outdoor . Indoor was just ordinary .

Grilled Chicken Vietnam ( 20k )
Green Tea Cake ( 15k )
Dark Cherry ( 15k )
Cookies & Cream ( 20k )
Green Tea Latte ( 16k )
I wasn't expected for good meals . I was just simply enjoying the place . Grilled Chicken Vietnam tasted ok . But looked like an ordinary grilled chicken for me . I didn't even knew where's the Vietnam part was. And the disentangled lettuce under the rice was quite disturbing for me .Green Tea Cake was nice . My friend was kinda exaggerated it saying it was super yum . Very small portion indeed . Its Dark Cherry was better than the green tea latte , not to sweet , not too big , not too small . The Green Tea Latte was too sweet . I can tasted milk inside the latte and way stronger than the green tea flavor . My favorite was the Cookies & Cream mixture from different flavors ice creams into one bowl with oreo .

Nothing wrong with the services , An affordable and nice place for hanging out , enjoying the garden atmosphere offered by Giggle Box . Also foods & drinks with very affordable price . Cheaper than wheresoever Solaria.
